At NAMM and Frankfurt the  unique tone of these 40^th Anniversary Custom Shop amplifier heads – each identified by a girl’s name, not a serial number  -  instantly grabbed attention: for instance, at NAMM top guitarists were heard saying, “What do I have to do to get one of these amps? I don’t care how much they cost – I want one...”

Here’s some basic tech-spec about the 40^th Anniversary Limited Edition: all amplifiers in the series share the same actual controls and are all non-master volume designs. They are all 50 watts with a 30 watt Class ‘A’ switch built in.  All 40^th Anniversary Custom Shop heads feature 2 x 12AX7/ECC83 and 2 x EL34 tubes.

 But the similarity ends there. Some anniversary Custom Shop amplifiers are very close to the original Pics Only ‘Plexi’ circuit, whilst others sound quite different. And because each head has a different design and voicing, this uniqueness will be confirmed with a photograph of the inside of each amplifier taken and authorised by The Custom Shop.

 In this way, in years to come people can see the way their amp looked in its 2008 completely original condition.
